The band Zea Mays, formed in Bilbao in 1997, has had a remarkable and persistent presence in the Basque music scene. After gaining distinction in several music competitions, Zea Mays signed with the GOR record label and released their debut album "Zea Mays.” They continued with hits like "Elektrizitatea" and "Harrobian", making themselves one of the best and most popular Basque rock bands. Their album "ERA" gave them even more exposure and their song "Negua Joan da ta" was a big hit. In 2022, they released "Adore Kemena Kuraia", celebrating 25 years and receiving praise. Their "25 urte joan dira ta" tour marked their 25-year anniversary. The compilation album "Adore Kemena Kuraia" includes new songs and collaborations, highlighting their continued musical excellence. Their 2023 tour has been overwhelmingly successful, with sold-out shows to very enthusiastic audiences. Zea Mays was also recognized by the city of Donostia by receiving the prestigious Adarra Saria.
