N.A.B.O. Udaleku at the BCC
The Udaleku summer camp is the North American Basque Organizations’ (N.A.B.O.) signature annual event, where children come together to learn about their Basque Culture. The camp rotates annually to different N.A.B.O. member clubs.
This summer’s 2024 Udaleku was hosted by the Basque Cultural Center and was a resounding success! 93 campers came together in San Francisco from 7 states and 3 countries to dance, learn txistu, play joko garbi and pelota, dive into their ancestry, and play Mus. Additionally, Udaleku took field trips to watch the Giants beat the Cubs and explore the Exploratorium and Pier 39.
None of this would have been possible without the support of the San Francisco Basque community. A huge milesker to all the volunteers, the SFBCC staff, and, most of all, to the families who opened their homes to the campers coming in from out of town. A full list of campers, instructors, and volunteers can be found by scanning the QR code. Eskerrik Hanix!
