Txirrindulari Kluba Bike Ride
Last Saturday, June 15th, 2024, the BCC Txirrindulari Kluba went on a memorable bike ride from Albany to Treasure Island and back, and what a ride it was! Despite being a smaller group this time, the camaraderie and fun were as big as ever. We set off under perfect weather—bright sun and a refreshing breeze—enjoying stunning views of blue skies, waters dotted with sailboats, and iconic cityscapes. Nature even added a bit of humor with a surprise aerial assault on one unlucky rider after a playful mention of our feathered friends. Our support team, the ever-reliable SAGs, were there with tire pumps and tubes, handling a couple of flats like pros. Special mention goes to those who conquered the challenging 16% uphill stretch, cheered on by all.
The day concluded with a delightful potluck featuring a global feast contributed by all: Romanian dishes, Spanish omelet, Tuscan beans, and an array of homemade treats including Gateau Basque and Key lime pie. Libations flowed freely, and we're convinced the miles we biked balanced out the indulgence! Huge thanks to Cristian and Mariana Rusa for hosting this fantastic gathering.
As we look ahead, mark your calendars for our next adventure in October, starting in San Francisco. Stay tuned for more details—it promises to be another epic ride!
